The airport is currently undergoing renovations. This is causing some confusion. It’s difficult to determine how to get into the parking lot. There is a long and indirect walk into the terminal. Inside the airport they’re tearing up flooring, resulting in uneven surfaces. Despite all this, Syracuse remains one of the best airports for politeness and service.

The airport is small which has advantages and disadvantages. It was easy to get an onsite car rental and drop off. The airport looks to be under some major construction. The bathrooms were in bad condition. The floor was just all wet around the urinals. That was definitely a bad sign. The staff didn't move quick and wasn't very friendly when I greeted them with Hi, how are you doing. I'll let that go this time because they gave me a free first class upgrade. My flight was also delayed but at least I was able to make it to my next airport in time for my connection.

.

You’re told to arrive two hours before your departure time. Common knowledge, everybody knows this, correct? Obviously TSA has yet to get the memo. Why am I arriving two hours before my flight time if security isn’t open until one hour before my flight time? Terrible customer service.

Currently (10/24/2017) has absolutely no public WiFi service available, ostensibly due to construction. Gaining access through a personal hotspot is also an arduous workaround at departure gates. Website continues to cheerily boast about free WiFi access.

I would drive to another airport for better options, embarrasing pricing and low quantity of flight choices. Also the parking is outrageous, look for a park and ride option to save money if staying there for over a week. The good points are there is a hotel within walking distancw from the terminal, several very nice hotels at the end of the road, about a mile and access to the interstate system is easy peasy. Route 81 is a direct exit/entrance and the state thruway from Buffalo to NYC is about 2 minute drive. Plus many reataurants in area from fast food to fine dining within minutes.
