With all the good comments and ratings that this salon had, I was excited to try this place. First off, my appt was at 10:30 and I wasn't seen until 11:30. However, I am a paitient person and didn't mind having to wait. As soon as Balkeis, the owner, was finished with her first client, she invited me to her chair. Mind you it's just her and she already had 3 ppl waiting. As I sit in her chair and remove my cap, she comments "oh my god" with a face of digust! I said excuse me and she pointed to my hair. She then proceeded to say "can you even comb this?" No problem. At this point I'm pissed but really excusing her ignorance. Finally, I comb it out and explain my style. She goes all into "my hair is this and that, it won't look right-it's going to take too much of her time, therefore, it'll be $105.00". Ridiculousness! I'm livid at this point, so I tell her I'm going to step outside and take a minute. At that point my sister entered the chair while I went to get food. I come back and explain to her I want it, and she says I need to step outside with my food. I'm 5 mos pregnant and thankfully it was somewhere close by where I can eat. I immediately made the decision not to EVER step foot back in that place and give someone who's deserving of my money. Balkeis is as racist and ignorant as they come! Beware my African American sisters; her profile says she can "professionally style ethnic hair...wrong! Beware.

As a African American client of Belkis for 5 years, I can HONESTLY say she is thee BEST Dominican salon in Syracuse! Her salon is very peaceful. You can go and get your hair done in a very calm and clean environment! Belkis really takes her time with your hair and ALWAYS does an exceptional job! I have never had any problems with my hair. She grows your hair and cares for your hair needs! I would recommend her to anyone. Whether you have natural or relaxed hair! You will love it!
Been there once and I was impressed by their work so I'll go there again. It's better to make an appointment so you don't have to wait forever.
