Based on other reviews, I must have been here when 2 of the 3 folks working here, must have been having a bad day ( apparently worse than me, when my dog passed away on Christmas eve 2016 ) ?

I've seen videos and photos when folks attend their pets individual cremations ( like me, because I wanted to be sure that it was *his* ashes I was getting and not another animals, as horror stories I've heard about ) that the pet is usually laying in a container with a blanket over it or something respectful like that.

Deeply kind and compassionate people. They have never been judgmental over the type of pets I keep. I would recommend them to anyone going through the loss of a faithful furry friend.

I have to say that when my English Setter, Freckles, passed away last winter, I was just a little dubious about taking him to a cremation service. I was ( and still am!) grieving terribly over his passing and the folks at Pet Haven were kind , gentle and understanding of the pain and grief I was feeling. It was a HUGE comfort knowing that Freckles would be creamated by himself without and other person's pet getting mixed in with his. I cannot say enough about the way not only I was treated but also the way Freckles was treated. The treated him with utmost respect and dignity. I got the impression that he was treated the same way one of their own pets would be treated. Unfortunately, my buddy Lucky ( our tuxedo cat ) just passed today and without hesitation I will be calling these folks up in the morning to arrange for Lucky's creamation. Not only did they treat me and my lost loved one with utmost respect and dignity, the cost was far less than I expected. If you've lost that special friend and are looking for an alternative to a " backyard burial" THESE folks should definitely be considered. It is comforting having people like these folks there for you in your time of need and distress. I would give them 10 Stars if I could after how I and my Buddy Freckles was treated and the fine job they did.

Great service, friendly and helps you along the way in such a hard time

When I made the appointment over the phone with Chris, she told me I was supposed to see either her or Sue, and when I got there for my appointment, Chris wasn't there, so it was Sue, and she was very rude, both when I got there, with an attitude, when she asked me why I was there ( for my dog--Skylar, "priority" individual cremation ) and then she was coping an attitude with the gentleman that took me to where my dog was going to be cremated, to which he just brushed her off...

RIP, Skylar. I'm sorry for everything you went through your last days before you were returned back to me, and I hope we can meet once again, at the Rainbow Bridge when it's my time to leave this Earth...

***UPDATE*** sorry for the late update here, but the manager of Pet Haven was nice enough to refund my $ I paid that day, they sent me a check in the mail a few weeks after this post.

No, my Skylar was laying, on a bare metal plate ( no covers over him at all ) out in the open where the crematorium was at. His legs were also flush with his abdomen, and when I asked the gentleman working there why he looked like that, he explained that is because he was packed with many other animals when rigor mortis set in. I said my good bye's to him, and the gentleman grabbed him by the head and set him in the crematorium.

Chris was at the office when I got Skylar's ashes returned to me, and she did have a better attitude and showed some compassion for my loss, but in general, that was not exactly the type of service I was thinking of for a "priority" cremation, and because of that, I'll have 2nd thoughts of ever having another pet while I'm living in or around Syracuse, NY, just because I would expect a bit more respect for my deceased pets than that...
