I went to this "salon" on two different occasions. My first exsperince was ok. Definitely not what I was use to tho. when I called to set an appointment for my first visit, the lady who answered had a very good phone representation. I set my appointment for 9 and arrived on time. When I arrived I was kind of shocked with the condition of the "salon" but to each is own an I brought my own supplies any way. I was told that her sister would be braiding my hair and she'll be there in 20 minutes or so.
You cannot go in there blind, you have to have an idea of what you want. It doesn't make sense to do price quotes over the phone because she cannot gage important factors when it comes to hair braiding. Any braiding professional knows this. The only reason I'm not rating it as excellent is because I believe there is always room for improvement.
Despite what some women have said, I had a great experience at Sophie's. They really went above and beyond to give good service. Not only did they do a great job, but they were also very professional. They listened to my needs, were on time and fast. I was nervous trying a new shop, but they made the experience a good one.
Terrible, terrible, terrible. Uncomfortable to say the least. My hair looks horrible even though I asked for a simple style. Besides the fact I was grossly overcharged. My first and last time visiting this business. Boooo!
I was told to bring 12 packs of hair it wasn't enough got here @ 930 quoted 120 price.. went up when I got there and she took so many break and im still here... underneath braids are huge braids on top are small so she can get to the next head she's on another break and I'm still here break are 1/2 hour long or longer Will NEVER come here or suggest this place to friend loved one or enemy I came here because I don't have time

THEY HAD NO ELECTRICITY. NONE
Literally they were braiding by candle light. There was no weather related power outages, no street post accident, nothing. They simply had no electricity. Asked me why I stayed ? I have no idea. I was hoping to get my braids together like last time because they did do a good job, quality wise. But this time? Smfh. I got my hair done Saturday (2/20/2016) and buy Sunday morning I was able to pull a tight top knot. I got home an there were so many fly aways it was crazy. Before I left the shop I told them they needed to trim more and they were upset. As I was in the chair and they're calling themselves done I'm showing them unfinished braids am still came home to unfinished hair. The sister mouthed in French "that's how's she is she's Jamaican". If it wasn't for my daughter there I would've ran in her mouth.. From jump. After theyre done braiding they're suppose to moose, oil sheen, and dip the ends in HOT water.. Apparently they didn't have moose or sheen. And of course no hot water because...... They had no ELECTRICITY. I work hard for my money an to just throw it away I was very f'n upset. Bad customer service. There was a lady there who was there way before me and probably is still there. The poor woman was finishing her own braids while in the chair.
I was so stupid to go back a second time. I already knew the routine. By the time I got there I went straight to the hair store and grabbed my hair. BY MYSELF. When I arrived to the "salon"......
