Somehow my previous post was removed (mysteriously). Brought my vehicle in for an inspection a few years ago, mechanic took it for a joy ride for 15 min. Came back, completed the inspection only to fail it for the ebrake not being tight enough (which he tested by revving the engine in first gear and feathering the clutch until the vehicle lurched which any vehicle would at that high of RPM's in 1st gear). Gave a quote of over a thousand. Took it to another shop that passed it. The ebrake requirement by NYS is subjective but I felt they were being dishonest and fishing for extra work. The vehicle passed inspection a year later by a 3rd shop without problems. I would not go there for any service again.
