I started having my auto serviced at Guy's shortly after I was divorced and discovered most mechanics treating me like a ditz and trying to make me fearful so they could upsell me services/products I didn't need (nor could afford). Although successful at recognizing and thwarting those hard sell efforts, it was tiring to find a shop that was HONEST, RELIABLE, FRIENDLY, LISTENING, REASONABLE, and NOT out for their own gain at MY expense. Guy's Automotive Service is ALL THAT AND MORE!!! I was immediately impressed with how they took the time to explain what goes into a repair, to show me parts of the car that were in need of repair, and to offer me various options and explain those implications (e.g. new vs. refurbished parts). I also appreciate how they give me a head's up about maintenance that I’ll need in the future. For instance, I brought my car in for an oil change during the summer and they noted my tires were getting quite worn. However, they recommended I replace them in Fall, just before the roads get slick. This attention to detail and exceptional customer service allowed me to budget the tires. I always have such a pleasant experience with Guy's each and every time. Since my first repair 17 years ago, they have always treated me with respect. They have proven I can rely on them to partner with me in maintaining all of my vehicles. They truly do go ABOVE & BEYOND in service!
Have gone to Mike at Guy's auto for probably 10 years since being referred by a friend. Have since referred several others. Mike's an honest mechanic who earned my business after fixing another shops screw up for $45 -- a national brand shop replaced my e-brake cable but never actually tightened it and quoted me over $1000 for a different repair when I brought it back to them to try and hide their screw up. Mike found the problem, tightened the cable, and sent me on my way.
Bought my new car there. Yes it is old in yrs but it's all I could afford. Started hearing strange noises and breaks acting funky. Called them back up they brought me right in. Took care of everything. No charges. Wonderful people.
No idea on the car buying side of things but this is a great repair shop.
